Karate Club
Thinking of taking up a martial art, looking to learn self-defence, or simply looking for a fun way to keep fit? Then come and try out karate with SUKC! We welcome everyone over 18 regardless of gender, build, and experience. Scroll down for more details.

Our training sessions have an emphasis on developing mobility, co-ordination, timing, and balance. Together, these help to provide an effective way to defend against attack.
SUKC is also a great place to meet many friendly people. We have regular social events throughout the year to get to know everyone, and it's an excellent opportunity to learn a skill whilst becoming part of a close knit community and make new friends.
So, what if you're someone who already has experience with martial arts? While some of our practices may differ from what you have previously been taught, there are some similarities. This gives the perfect opportunity for you to explore and test your own understanding of techniques.
In-person training times (in Building 42):
Tuesdays - Activities Room: 5pm-7pm
Saturdays - The Cube: 10am-12pm
Please wear appropriate clothing, and bring plenty of water. We practise barefoot.
You can join at any time during the year.
Membership prices:
Students and associates:
£25 for the year (first gi and white belt included)
Additional Gi and white belt: £25
These prices include your insurance. Also, you do not need a Sport & Wellbeing membership to join.
We hold optional gradings twice per year which incurs a grading fee of £10 if you wish to participate

Membership Information
These are the current membership fees offered by Karate Club , although many clubs and societies offer a free period for new members to try out their activities.
