11 Oct 2025,
Southampton Common
Quidditch
Experience a Quadball tournament that's freshers-friendly and wholly unserious as our Give-it-a-Go session to raise money for Beyond Reflections, a Southampton-based mental health support charity specialising in help for the trans+ community and their allies.
Play for the first time on the day by coming to our morning training session (10:00-12:30) to learn the game, then play in friendly, fun matches from 13:00-16:30 with teams from all over the south of England! All we ask is that you bring a packed lunch and a moulded mouthguard, or email/dm us for help with a mouthguard!
Don't feel like playing? Come and watch anytime from 13:00 onwards! No tickets or sign up required, but we do ask for a £5 (for players) or £2 (for spectators) donation on the day or at our box office if you are able to support our charity.
Persuaded? Let us know by filling out our quick interest form at our event page on Facebook (below) or Instagram bio (@southamptonquadballclub). We can't wait to see you!
The Organisers

Quadball (previously known as Quidditch) is a mixed gender, full contact sport that can be loosely described as a combination of handball, rugby and dodgeball. Quadball is a sport that, in most cases, starts at the university level – everyone joining the club is a beginner! We play other teams in the University League. SQC won the British Quadball Cup in 2022, placed third in 2023, and second in 2024. 2 years ago, we had the incredible opportunity to play in the European Quadball Cup held in Italy. Over the academic year, there are various competitive, fun and friendly competitions. We are an inclusive sport that does not support J.K. Rowling. As per the International Quadball Association rulebook: “Athletes play as their stated gender. All quadball athletes have the right to define how they identify and it is this stated gender that is recognised on pitch”.
